Richard Norris’ music is a mainstay of Ban Ban Ton Ton. I, personally, have been listening to his tune-age pretty much since acid house first hit. A super friendly guy, he never seems to sit still. Constantly creating, connecting, collaborating, even in his quiet moments he’s composing new instalments of his essential Music For Healing series. Recently, Richard’s been working with Lol Hammond – ex of the Drum Club – as Moon Dust – but this year alone we’ve covered the 4th volume of his on-going dub project Oracle Sound and his hefty psyche rock comp, Mr Norris Changes Brains.
In October Richard’s friend and long-standing musical partner, Dave Ball, sadly passed away, a painful moment he marked with the emotional epic Deep Down (In B). Among the classic Balearic Beats that they created together, Floatation, for many folks, myself included, holds the most memories, and, in 2025, this track – some might fear to sacred to mess with – received sublime symphonic remixes, care of Mark Barrott, and a dance floor detonating makeover from Made By Pete.
Seven shots of chilled electronics selected by the righteous Richard Norris.
