Mark Barrott and Richard Norris, two masters of modern ambient / chillout – music of love and loss, music for healing – join forces. The Blue Hour bears an icy, crystalline Robin Guthrie with Harold Budd-esque beauty. The final Ambient Mix of Hazing opens and closes with computerised angelic vocals, and could be The Sabres Of Paradise’s Smokebelch reimagined as a children’s lullaby. The arrangements are minimal, sparse, but the production so rich that if you close your eyes you can picture a full philharmonic.
