The second 7” release on new Italian label, Dualismo Sound. The first – which quickly sold out its limited run – focussed on composer, arranger, vocalist, conductor and producer, Paolo Zavallone. This one takes two tracks from Jazz pianist, Enrico Intra`s 1978 LP, Momento Intra. Tracks built around the drumming of Tullio De Piscopo, and Enrico`s improvised Fender Rhodes bass-lines.
The schizophrenic A-side, Insieme, is one minute spinning, opulently stringed, under a Studio 54 mirror ball, the next displaying flashes of near Flamenco acoustic dexterity. A bit like cutting between Michael Chapman`s Lescudjack, and Peter Nero`s Soul Ballet. Or Love Unlimited`s Theme. There are choirs of female harmony, and a strange electronic noise that swaps for Barry White`s velvet baritone. Electric Wah Wah and piano playing as Disco-desirable as Francis Lai`s Number One.
On the flip, Starbus, rides a chunkier bottom end, adds sighing divas, Rock riffs and a Salsoul percussion break, in a Arpadys-esque groove.
