Berlin-based Sebastian Döring, aka Lovebirds, has been making music for over 20 years. Releasing dance music on tons of respected labels, such as Buzzin’ Fly, Defected, Freerange, OM, Peppermint Jam, Razor N Tape, and Winding Road, while launching his own imprint, Teardrop Recordings, in 2008. Most famous, perhaps, for the 2011 hit, Want You In My Soul, a collaboration with Stee Downes, Sebastian has continued – non-stop – to crank the production handle. He has a new E.P. out now, Just Music & Me – a trio of tracks that are party-starting house, and Italo-disco-influenced sleaze, in equal measure. Explosive, big synthed, electro-boogie, glittering with myriad mirrorball reflections.
The Insider lured Lovebirds back for afters, and hit him up for an appropriate late night playlist.

Marta Acuna – Dance, Dance, Dance
If there´s only one disco record that I could take to an island – it would be this!
L.T.D. – Love Ballad
I only came across this version a few years ago but What The Fuck! – soul music does not get better than this. Jeffrey Osbourne´s ad lib vocals towards the end are ripping my soul apart every time I hear it.
Billy Cobham – Heather
One of the deepest pieces of music ever made. George Duke on keys being not very George Duke … it’s a trip!
Thundercat – For Love I Come
It’s a George Duke cover, but taken to a whole other level – deep and powerful.
Jakob, Mikesh, Filburt – Philip Dolphia
I figured we also need the odd dance tune at our after hours – this one reminds me of Malcom Mclaren’s “Madame Butterfly” – it’s a beautifully built gentle groover from a few years back!
Chris Rea – Josephine (edit)
This has been proven many times after hours! One for the ladies and for a bit of sing along!
Roy Davis Jr. featuring Peven Everett – Watch Them Come
Another club tune – just one of the most special, grooviest songs out there. It’s pretty much irresistible, just wait for how it grows and grows.
Kool & The Gang – Summer Madness
I always say “this is why the Fender Rhodes was invented”. And the ARP2600. Thankfully I own both. I’m also loving Khruangbin´s version that came out recently!
Change – The Glow Of Love
What better music to listen to than this? Luther Vandross before he was famous, and those brilliant Italians being so inspired by Chic, and creating this anthem … goosebumps every time!
Jamiroquai – Blow My Mind
These guys just killed it in the `90s … from the first notes you’re on their journey!
