Ibiza`s Jazz N Palms are an act that seemed to have an amazing year. Emerging from a series of admittedly excellent edits with an album of outstanding originals, Ses Rodes, and performing as a full live band, holding down residences at the island’s Standard and Pikes hotels. Led by Italian expat, Riccio, they also released a rocking reimagining of Piera Martell’s coveted Balearic classic, Exotica, retitled Milano, on a 45, for Hell Yeah! Recordings. Their downtempo take is a very, very groovy JJ Cale-esque boogie – with vocalist, Giovanna Lubjan, switching between soaring and a low sensual growl. On the racing, rhythm guitar-driven Disco-Mix she stretches to super scatted vamps. The music, bang in the middle of celebrated outfits Str4ta and Mildlife. Here, Riccio raps with The Insider and reveals a few of his own top tunes.
