Ruf Dug was the first person I know to contract COVID-19. This was right back before the crisis really started, and so he’s been quarantined and locked down for longer than most. Never what might be described as a slacker or a lazy bones, he’s used the period constructively, productively, quietly hatching and releasing, unleashing a range of multi-media projects. Putting together sample-packs, for other budding producers with pandemic-induced time on their hands, and also running live-streaming tutorials – Ruffy Makes A Tune – demonstrating just show it`s done.
Ruffy composed love songs to his Casio CZ-5000 in the shape of the ECZtasy E.P., and musically he released tunes across the board, from zouk bangers to proto-house homages, from “funky alternatives” – tributes to Dusseldorf`s Salon Des Amateurs – to beautiful ambient pieces commissioned for Chris Coco`s Chill Out Tent events.
His Ruf Cutz label made available compositions by Jon Tye, Jan Schulte, and Darren Ziesing aka Empire, and right before Christmas “screened” Sarah Bates hallucinatory movie, Khao Rop (the DVD and soundtrack are now available exclusively via Bandcamp).

Could you give me a few pieces of music, released or reissued this year, that have helped you make it through 2020?
Beverly Glenn Copeland – Keyboard Fantasies
Special Touch – Garden Of Life
Ocean Moon – Crystal Harmonics
Hamilton: An American Musical
This will be hard to answer, but all being well what plans do you have for 2021?
To throw some very nice parties with my mega speakers, quality food and good friends.
Is there any way that I, we, others, can help and assist you in achieving these goals? Are you looking for partners for any forthcoming activities – in that sense of “if we stand together then we will survive”?
Just keep being you Rob! Love u so much xxxx
