Leo Mas never set out to be a DJ. He had to be dragged from Milan to Ibiza that first Summer. But his mix-tapes caught the ear of Alfredo Fiorito, and Leo found himself sharing the decks with the legendary Argentinian at Amnesia. A residency they held together between 1985 and 1989. In doing so laying down the blueprint for what has become known as Balearic Beat, as it synergised with Ecstasy and Acid House. The classics of the genre were largely acquired on shopping trips back in Milan. These records were one of the things that gave Amnesia the edge over the hedonistic island`s other “discothèques”.

After a solo season at Amnesia in 1990, Leo returned to Italy, where he became a House Music hero. Winning hearts and minds at “life-changing” parties like Movida, Afterhours, Ranch, Mazoom and Go! Bang. Hooking up with production partner Fabrice (Fabrizio Lazzari) and releasing music on fabled labels such as Heartbeat and Pin Up.

In 2017 Leo and Fabrice seemed to be as busy as ever. Working with Archeo Recordings, Beyond Paradise, and Music For Dreams. Reshaping that Balearic Beat for the 21st Century.
